Shank, Florence Burck King
December 12, 1890 - June 12, 1985

Florence B. King - Shank was born on December 12, 1890, and died June 12, 1985, at the age of 94 years and 6 months, at her son'a home near Hubbard.

She was the last of the Burck family. On October 11, 19l4 she was married to Oliver King who preceded her in death on March 2, 1964.

To this union were born 7 children: Norma Kauffman of Hubbard; Lyle King of Lebanon; Beulah Cowan of Sweet Home; Howard King of Hubbard; Doris Hooley of Hammett, Idaho; Hadley who died August 5, 1940; and Eunice King of Hubbard.

On August 28, 1965, she married Frank Shank who preceded her in death on July 20, 1984.

She was born east of Woodburn on the Ramage place near Pudding River. At age 11, the family moved back to Indiana for nearly 2 years. Returning to Oregon, they settled in the Albany area until she was married. After her marriage she lived in the Hubbard-Woodburn area where she resided until God called her home.

Stahly, Paul D.

Services for Paul D. Stahly, 72, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Wakarusa [Ind.] who died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday [Jan. 24, 1985] in Sarasota Memorial Hospital [Fla.], where he was admitted Monday with heart problems, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the North Main Street Mennonite Church of Nappanee, of which he was a member.

Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Thompson-Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to services Monday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Board of Missions or the Mission Aviation Fellowship.

Mr. Stahly was born July 10, 1912, in Nappanee, and lived in the Nappanee and Wakarusa areas until moving to Sarasota four years ago.

On Oct. 7, 1934, he married Elsie R. Hostetler, who died Nov. 29, 1976. On May 19, 1979, he married Ruth Simmons. She survives with three daughters, Esther Farmwald and Ruth Weldy, both of Nappanee, and Darlene Weaver of Zaire, Africa; a son, P. Devon "Pete" Stahly of Goshen; a stepdaughter, Neva Joyce McCarty of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a stepson, Gary Simmons of Murfreesboro; eight grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and three brothers, Ward of Elkhart, Ralph of Goshen and Lamar Stahly of Nappanee.

Mr. Stahly was the co-owner of Stahly Produce, retiring in 1974.
